The Betty Charitable Foundation, Inc.

The mission of the SAVE THE BETTY CHARITABLE FOUNDATION, INC. is to educate the public on preservation and restoration of maritime sailing vessels.  
This is being accomplished by: 
• restoring a 100-year-old sailing vessel  (in process)
• planned operation of maritime museum (future)
• collect and interpret materials relating to the fishing and maritime history of the Wild Rivers Coast (future)
• preserve and curate the artifacts and culture of this region (in process)
• preserve and curate artifacts relating to restoration of this particular vessel (in process)
• operation of a year-round maritime educational center  (future)
• creation and sponsorship of a boat festival in Brookings-Harbor (in process)
• educating the public on the importance of fishing and maritime activities, their methods, technology and science, and cultivate an appreciation of the economic importance of these industries (in process)
• working with local television station to create educational documentaries (in process)
